What is CalSnap?

CalSnap is a nutrition tracking app that lets you scan food items using your camera or gallery, automatically estimate nutrition info using AI, log meals, and track your daily intake against personalized goals.

How do I scan and log a food item?

  1. Open CalSnap and tap the scan button.
  2. Point your camera at the food item (or choose a photo from your gallery).
  3. Let the app analyze the image and suggest the closest match and nutrition estimate.
  4. Adjust serving size or details if needed.
  5. Save it to your meal (breakfast, lunch, dinner, or snack) to log it.

How are nutrition estimates generated?

CalSnap uses a combination of nutrition databases and AI-powered image analysis (e.g., Gemini/AI services) to approximate calories and macronutrients. These values are estimates only and may not be exact for every brand or portion size.

Can I adjust my daily goals?

Yes. You can adjust calorie and macro goals in the app’s goal or settings screen. Update your target calories, macros, or other relevant settings and the app will recalculate your daily progress based on those goals.

What is the difference between free and premium?

The free version of CalSnap may show ads and include core tracking features. Premium or subscription tiers may remove ads and unlock additional features (for example, advanced insights, history, or extra customization). Exact features may change over time—please refer to the in-app paywall for the latest details.

Why am I seeing ads?

The free version of CalSnap is supported by advertisements (e.g., via Google Mobile Ads SDK). Ads help us keep the app free to use. You can optionally upgrade to a paid plan (if available in your region) to remove ads.

How do I manage or cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed by your app store account and our subscription provider (e.g., RevenueCat). To change or cancel your subscription:

My scans or logs are missing. Can I recover them?

If you are logged in with an account (for example, via email or Google Sign‑In) and your data is synced to the cloud (e.g., Firestore), your history should be preserved across devices. If you were using guest mode or have uninstalled the app without syncing, some data may not be recoverable.

Can I use CalSnap offline?

Some features (like viewing recent logs stored on your device) may work offline. However, scanning with AI, syncing data, loading certain resources, and ads generally require an internet connection.
